How to setup Epson thermal docket printer

There are 2 options – use the serial port (traditional) printing or setup a print driver.

Serial Port

Serial port option is only available for Windows platforms.

  1. Install TM Virtual Port Driver. This allows you to convert the thermal printer from serial/parallel to USB. After installation is completed, when you click Close, a window with COM Port Setting will appear.
  2. Select Configure Now, and choose a port for TM Printer. We normally choose COM30. Click OK.
  3. Connect the Epson Printer to the computer (USB cable) and power. Turn it on.
  4. Now you can use inTennis to print:
    • Open inTennis, go to File->Config->Docket Printer-> setting
    • Choose Use Serial Port
    • Make sure Com Port is whatever you choose in step 3 (e.g. COM30). Remember to click OK first to save your new setting.
    • Press the Test Print Button.
    • You should see the Epson printer printing a test docket.
    • go to File->Config->Docket Printer-> preferences
    • Enter the header and footer in this screen to set up the display of the docket. e.g. put your business and ABN

Print Driver

Print driver option can be used by both Windows and Mac OS.

  • Install the print driver that comes with your Epson thermal printer
  • Open inTennis, go to File->Config->Docket Printer setup
  • Choose Use Print Driver
  • ‘Select the docket printer’s name and do a Test Print
  • go to File->Config->Docket Printer-> preferences
  • Enter the header and footer in this screen to set up the display of the docket. e.g. put your business and ABN
